Doctor Helms has been delivering high-quality foot and ankle care in the greater Indianapolis area since 1988. He completed his residency in 1988 at Mt Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and continues to learn the latest and best foot and ankle treatments by attending workshops and conferences each year.
Dr. Helms specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all foot problems. He is an avid runner and hiker. He has been running year-round since the 1970s and has completed many full and half marathons. He has a special interest in treating running and sports medicine-related problems. Further, he has extensive experience and expertise in the use of custom orthotic devices, the treatment of heel pain, and diabetic foot problems.
Dr. Helms is married to Karen Mersereau, Managing Director at Oxford Financial Group, Ltd. Dr. Helms and Ms. Mersereau have five adult children.
